THE HYENAS COME OUT AT NIGHT

You like werewolves? Well then get ready for something new. “Hyenas” is on the scene to take us by storm. While “Underworld” has their morphing effects in full swing you can check out how cool the morphing effects in this movie look. The EFX are well done here and I like the hyena angle. Werewolves would be too easy. This time we got something a bit more wild. Plenty of gore, nudity, and awesome morphing action. It’s not a big budget movie but it oozes a coolness that you don’t always get from those big budget counterparts. The critics can be harsh but I never listen to them. Make up your own mind. You don’t get to awesomeness by having a big budget, but it helps. This is underground cool. Hyenas are kinda creepy.

YOU ARE INFESTED

This movie “Bug” is what I call minimalist horror. You can quote me on that. It’s a lot like “Saw” in the fact that it’s making the most of a lower budget without really losing the feel of a big budget movie. In Saw they had only one room. In this we have really only one room. But it’s what you do with that room. Ashley Judd did a great job in this movie of being the paranoid freak after being infected with “paranoia” by the man she picks up for a night of fun. This paranoia is actually a government created virus that makes you think you’re infected with a bug infestation that you must cut out of you! Yikes! It delivers on the freaky scale and cyberpunks love a good dose of paranoia in any form. This is one bug you don’t want.

OH THAT LILY!

If you watched “The Munsters” then you will have heard of this one. Lily Munster was a sexy mother but I never knew just how sexy she really was ’til now. I mean c’mon, look at that bod! This girl got it goin’ on. Yvonne De Carlo was her name. I know there are nudes of her out there but not many. She never did any really well known magazines or a whole photo shoot. The story is she was a really seasoned, well experienced actress but at the time times were hard and in order for her to get a role she had to go with The Munsters. That’s what you call fate. She was popular and in demand but the difficulty of the times turned her into a goth icon. Ironically, that show got huge. That’s what you call luck of the draw. Good for her.

DUNCAN IS THE MAN

Gotta love those oldies sometimes. Like this one here: “Order Of The Black Eagle”. This movie was about Duncan Jax, secret agent, protector of freedom, and all around badass. He’s so badass that he went up against the Nazis and a cryogenically frozen Hitler! You heard me correctly, Hitler is not dead, at least not in this movie. He does meet a grisly demise though. So inventive those Nazis. Back when action heroes weren’t afraid to kill some people. Gotta love that. Now days we have so many PG-13 movies where they try to appeal to a wider audience. It can ruin the effect of a movie to make it too censored though. This movie was lower budget but it’s so awesome. The sequel was equally as awesome, “Unmasking The Idol”, where Duncan Jax is a ninja! Can’t get cooler than this. He even chooses 007 when playing roulette. You are the man Duncan Jax! Wish we had movies like this now with bigger budgets. All badguys die. All goodguys live. Awesome!
